📝 Overview
The Help Center is where ElderSuite gathers everything you need when you want help with the application itself rather than with a record. From one screen you can request support, start a remote assistance session, open the online documentation, check for an update, view the application log, see which version is installed, and open Ask Eddie.
ElderSuite serves adult day care centers nationwide.
The Help Center holds no client, claim, attendance, or provider information. There is nothing on it to fill in and nothing to save; it only opens other windows and web pages. If you are new to ElderSuite, see Getting Started with ElderSuite: Your First Steps.
⚙ How It Works
1. Open the Help Center
Click Help Center at the right-hand end of the ElderSuite main menu bar. It is available from wherever you are working, and no permission or selected client is needed to open it.
The Help Center is its own destination on the main menu. It is not inside any Center, and none of the Centers open it. If the Help Center is already open, clicking Help Center again brings it to the front.
2. Get Support
The three buttons at the top left are about getting help:
- Request Support: opens the ElderSuite support ticket page in your web browser, where you fill in the ticket.
- Remote Assistance: opens the Remote Assistance Request window so a session can be started with an ElderSuite representative.
- Online Documentation: opens the ElderSuite documentation and solutions pages in your web browser.
The Help Center stays open behind the browser, so nothing is lost when you switch back.
3. Check Your Installation in Related Activities
The Related Activities section holds three buttons about the installation on this computer:
- Update ElderSuite: checks for a newer version. ElderSuite then offers to install the update, reports that it is still downloading in the background, or reports that you have the latest version. Agreeing to install closes ElderSuite and opens the installer.
- Application Log: opens the ElderSuite Error Activity Log when an error activity log file exists for this installation. If there is none, a not-found message appears instead. See How to View the Error Activity Log in ElderSuite.
- About ElderSuite: shows the version installed on this computer. See How to Open About ElderSuite.
4. Open Ask Eddie
The Ask Eddie panel on the right side of the Help Center opens ElderSuite's built-in assistant. Click the Ask Eddie link or the picture of Eddie—both do the same thing. Ask Eddie opens as a window inside ElderSuite, and the Help Center stays open behind it. See Meet Ask Eddie: Built-In Help for ElderSuite Users.
✅ Important Limitations
Request Support and Online Documentation open in your web browser, so they need an internet connection. If the page seems not to open, check whether the browser window is behind ElderSuite.
Remote Assistance, About ElderSuite, and Application Log open on top of the Help Center, and the rest of ElderSuite waits until you close them. That is expected, not a freeze.
The Help Center has no Save, Cancel, or Close button. Close it with the close control in its title bar; nothing is lost because nothing on the screen is edited.
