📝 Overview
About ElderSuite is the Help Center window that shows identifying details for the ElderSuite installation on this computer: the product version, the framework version found on the device, and the name of the provider account data set currently in use. It also displays the product copyright statement and legal warning, and it carries a Clear Cache button for removing cached picture files on this device.
ElderSuite serves adult day care centers nationwide.
Open Help Center from the right-hand end of the ElderSuite main menu bar, then click About ElderSuite in the Related Activities group. There is nothing to type or save on this window. Use it when support asks for a version number, when you need to confirm which provider account this computer is set to use, or when client photos look out of date and need a fresh download.
This window is not the separate About document reader that displays help articles such as About Eddie. Checking for a software update is also separate—use Update ElderSuite in the same Related Activities group, or see ElderSuite Checks for Updates on Its Own.
⚙ How It Works
1. Open Help Center
Click Help Center at the right-hand end of the ElderSuite main menu bar. The Help Center screen opens inside the main ElderSuite window.
About ElderSuite is not available from the Claim, Client, Nursing, Nutrition, Provider, or Report Center. Version and installation details for this computer live in the Help Center.
2. Open About ElderSuite
In the Related Activities group, click About ElderSuite (the right-most of the three buttons in that group). The About ElderSuite window opens as a dialog centered on the Help Center.
While it is open, the rest of ElderSuite waits until you dismiss it. That pause is expected—it is not a freeze. Nothing open elsewhere is changed by opening or closing this window.
3. Read Version, Framework, and Provider Account
Beneath the product artwork, read the information block:
- The first line shows Version followed by the ElderSuite version installed on this device—the line support usually asks for.
- The second line reports the framework version found on the device (for example, a .NET Framework Version band). That value is device information, not a detail about your ElderSuite records.
- The third line names the provider account data set ElderSuite is currently set to use on this computer.
The window also shows the product copyright statement and legal warning. Every line is display-only.
To compare versions across every authorized computer, open Provider Center and use Manage Device Installations.
4. Clear Cached Photos When Needed
If client photos look out of date, click Clear Cache. ElderSuite asks under Clear Cached Data whether to continue. Choose Yes to clear, or No to stop with nothing removed and leave the window open.
Clear Cache removes only the picture files ElderSuite has cached on this device. Client, claim, and attendance records and settings are not affected. After a clear, ElderSuite downloads photos again the next time a window needs them; those pictures may appear more slowly the first time.
When the result message is acknowledged, the About ElderSuite window closes. Reopen it from the Help Center if you still need to read the version or provider account line.
5. Close with OK
When you are finished reading, click OK to close the window and return to the Help Center. The title bar has no close control, so OK (or finishing a cache clear) is how you leave.
✅ Important Limitations
This window opens only from Help Center → Related Activities → About ElderSuite. None of the six Centers offer a route to it.
It is a dialog. The rest of ElderSuite cannot be used until you dismiss it with OK or finish a Clear Cache result.
There is nothing to fill in and nothing to save. The window does not change ElderSuite records.
Clear Cache affects cached picture files on this device only. It does not clear client, claim, or attendance data, and it does not change settings.
The framework version is reported as a band rather than an exact build. A value that ends in “or Later” does not mean the device has exactly that version.
This is not the About document reader used for help articles, and it is not the Update ElderSuite check. For a first install on another computer, see How to Install ElderSuite.
⚠ Clear Cache Closes the Window
After you clear the cache and acknowledge the result, the About ElderSuite window closes. That is expected.
If you still need the version, framework, or provider account line, open Help Center again and click About ElderSuite.
The confirmation wording refers to clearing cached data; only cached photos are removed. No records or settings are deleted.
