How to Add Client Treatments in ElderSuite

Open Treatments from the Nursing Center, add a named treatment for the selected client, then print the weekly Treatment Administration Record - Form ES4020.

📝 Overview

Treatments keeps each client's treatment records in the Nursing Center. Each treatment belongs to one client. It stores the treatment name, how often it is given, an optional related diagnosis, notes, up to five administration times, whether it appears on the treatment sheet, and whether it is inactive.

Open Treatments from the Nursing Center. The Treatment List shows clients on the left and the treatments for the highlighted client on the right. Adding and editing happen on the Treatment window that list opens.

Treatments recorded here feed the client's treatment sheet and appear on a Physician's Order and a Health Assessment.

The weekly treatment sheet is Treatment Administration Record - Form ES4020. Print it from the Treatment List or from the Report Center. The individual Treatment window does not have its own Print command.

⚙ How It Works

1. Open Treatments

Open the Nursing Center and click Treatments. The Treatment List opens with clients on the left and that client's treatments on the right.

Highlight the client you want. The right side shows only that client's treatments, so you are working with one client at a time. Set View to All Clients when you need a client who is no longer attending.

For a Limited Access sign-in, Treatments requires the Edit Treatments permission. Without it, the button is disabled. Permissions are read at sign-in, so sign out and back in after the permission is granted.

The same Treatment window can also open from a Physician's Order by using Add or Edit beside that record's Medical Treatments grid.

2. Add or Edit a Treatment

Click Add New to open the Treatment window for the highlighted client. Click Edit, or double-click a row, to open an existing treatment.

Enter the Treatment name. That field is required. Add Frequency, Related Diagnosis, Notes, and the applicable Administration Time 1 through Administration Time 5 when they apply. Those fields are optional.

Related Diagnosis offers diagnoses already recorded for the selected client. Use Add Diagnosis beside that list when the diagnosis still needs to be recorded for this client.

Include on Treatment Sheet is selected by default on a new treatment. Leave it selected when the treatment belongs on the treatment sheet used for day-to-day recording.

On a new record, Select Client is already set to the client you highlighted. After the first successful save, that client cannot be changed.

3. Click Save & Close

Click Save & Close to store the treatment and return to the list.

If you click Delete, ElderSuite asks for confirmation before removing the treatment. A treatment that is already used by another record cannot be deleted. In that situation, preserve the history by setting the treatment to Inactive and clicking Save & Close.

4. Print the Weekly Treatment Administration Record

The report covers a Sunday-through-Saturday week. Producing it does not change the treatment records.

From the Treatment List, use Print → Print Treatment Administration Record. ElderSuite opens the weekly print options with the highlighted client already selected.

From Report Center, open Nursing ReportsTreatment Administration Record - Form ES4020. Check the clients in Select Client(s), confirm the Sunday-through-Saturday week, then click Preview.

Preview builds the document and opens it in the Report Viewer. Inactive clients are not offered on that client-selection list. At least one eligible client must be selected, and the date range must be a Sunday-through-Saturday week.

If no Treatment Administration Records are available for the selected criteria, ElderSuite reports that no records were found.

⚠ Enter a Treatment Name

A treatment record requires an entry in the Treatment field. Complete that name before clicking Save & Close.

With the field empty, Save & Close does not store the record, and closing the window discards unsaved entries without asking. The treatment is stored only after the save succeeds.
