A new admission or yearly renewal usually needs a signed Physician's Order and an updated Health Assessment. ElderSuite stores and prints the forms. It does not send them to the doctor.
The packet sits on the corner of the desk. The client started last week, or the year is up. Someone still needs a physician's signature.
That is the usual bottleneck. It is not a missing button in ElderSuite. Centers lose days waiting on a signed order, then scramble to update the Health Assessment so the two documents match.
A new admission or yearly renewal usually needs a signed Physician's Order and an updated Health Assessment. In ElderSuite those records are Form 3055 (Physician's Order) and Form 3050 (Health Assessment). ElderSuite stores them, prints them, and keeps the history. It does not fax, email, or notify the physician's office. It does not renew an authorization on its own.
Requirements vary by state, payer, and program. ElderSuite does not decide them and does not enforce them. In Texas DAHS, for example, HHSC uses those same form numbers for a new enrollment, a transfer, or a change in the person's condition. Confirm the current packet with your licensing agency or payer. The Physician's Order lives in the Nursing Center under Physician's Orders. Every order belongs to the client you highlighted.
A client and a complete Date have to be present. If either is missing, Save & Close and Print do nothing. There is no message. The window stays open. On a new order, Date defaults to today.
Work through the form. Choose the ordering physician. Add opens a new physician record if that person is not on file yet.
Print produces the form to send for signature. ElderSuite offers to save first if anything is still unsaved. ElderSuite does not transmit the form.
When the signed copy comes back, file it with the chart or scan it into that client's Client Documents. Open Client Center, highlight the client on the Client List, and click Manage Client Documents. Scanner opens the ElderSuite Scan Manager. After Finished Scanning, Client Document Details asks for a Title. Choose Physician's Order (Form 3055), or type one, then click OK. Save & Close on Client Documents is what files it. There is no upload button on the Physician's Order screen.
The Health Assessment lives in the Nursing Center under Health Assessment & Service Plans. A new assessment is four pages. They belong to one record and are saved together.
A client and a complete Assessment Date have to be present. If either is missing, Save & Close and Print do nothing. There is no message. Completed by is the name that prints for the nurse.
The printed form is signed by the nurse and by the individual or responsible person. File the signed copy with the chart or scan it into the client's Client Documents using the ElderSuite Scan Manager. Use the Title Health Assessment/Service Plan (Form 3050) so it is easy to find later.
Medications and treatments on the order are the same client records that appear on the assessment. Update them once.
If a medication was discontinued, do not delete it. Open it from Nursing Center → Medications, enter the stop date, and mark it Inactive. Inactive keeps the history. Delete removes the record, including doses that were already given.
The packet is done when both forms are completed for the client, both are printed, the order is sent, and the signed copies are filed or scanned into Client Documents.
If Save & Close or Print appears to do nothing, the client or the date is incomplete. Fill both and try again. ElderSuite does not show a message.
